HVAC Before & After in Fort Lauderdale, FL

Photos of finished installs are fine, but photos of what we walked into tell the real story. Corroded coils, rusted drain pans, condenser fins flattened by tropical storms, ductwork hung wrong by whoever got there first. That’s the starting point on most Fort Lauderdale jobs. The after photos show what happens when the work is done right, priced before it starts, and guaranteed in writing for a full year.

AC Repair: Blower Motor Replacement in Victoria Park

The problem: A 2014 Carrier air handler in a Victoria Park condo was making a grinding noise you could hear from the living room. The blower motor bearings had worn out, and the wheel was wobbling against the housing. Airflow had dropped enough that the bedroom never got below 78 degrees on an August afternoon.

What we did: Pulled the blower assembly, confirmed the motor was beyond saving, and installed a new OEM-compatible motor with a fresh capacitor. Cleaned the wheel, straightened two bent fins on the housing, and checked static pressure before sealing everything back up.

The result: Quiet enough to hear the ceiling fan again, and airflow strong enough that the thermostat finally reaches its set point. Written price before we touched a screw. The repair is guaranteed for 365 days.

AC Repair: Condenser Fan Motor After a Storm in Coral Ridge

The problem: A late-summer squall came through Coral Ridge and left a Goodman condenser with a bent fan blade. The unit ran but sounded like a helicopter taking off, and the vibration was shaking the copper lines. Left alone, that vibration cracks a line set, and then you’re looking at a refrigerant leak on top of the motor job.

What we did: Replaced the fan motor and blade as a matched pair, not just the blade. A bent blade almost always takes the motor bearings with it, and putting a new blade on a stressed motor just moves the failure a few months down the road. Checked the capacitor while we were in there.

The result: Smooth, quiet operation and no vibration at the line set. Total time from phone call to cool air: same day. This repair carries the 365-Day Done Right Promise in writing.

AC Installation: Full System Replacement in Plantation

The problem: A R-22 system from 1998 in a Plantation ranch house finally lost its compressor. The homeowner had been nursing it along with refrigerant top-ups for three years, but R-22 pricing made that a losing game. The condenser was rusted through at the base, and the air handler had a cracked drain pan that had been patched with epoxy twice.

What we did: Replaced the entire system with a matched Trane heat pump and air handler, properly sized for the square footage rather than just matching the old unit’s tonnage. Replaced the line set, added a new filter box, and set up the drain with a proper float switch so a clogged line shuts the system down instead of flooding the closet.

The result: A system that cools the house on half the electricity the old one pulled, and no more monthly top-up bills. We handled the permit paperwork and gave the homeowner a written price before any equipment was ordered. No surprises at the door.

Furnace Repair: Gas Valve Replacement in Imperial Point

The problem: We don’t get many cold nights in Fort Lauderdale, but when we do, a furnace that won’t fire is a problem. An Imperial Point home had a Lennox furnace where the gas valve would click but not open. The igniter glowed, the draft inducer ran, but no flame. That’s a gas valve failure, and it’s not something to guess at with household tools.

What we did: Confirmed the valve was getting voltage but not opening, then replaced it with a correct Lennox-compatible valve. Checked gas pressure at the manifold, verified the flame sensor was clean, and ran a full cycle test three times before leaving.

The result: Heat on the first cold snap of the season, and a written guarantee that covers this repair for 365 days. Gas work should never be a DIY project. If the valve isn’t seated or the pressure is off, you’re risking a leak inside the house. A trained pro is the safe call.

AC Repair: Drain Line and Evaporator Coil Cleanout in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea

The problem: A condo in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea had water staining on the ceiling below the air handler. The drain line was clogged with the kind of algae sludge that builds up fast in Florida’s humidity, and the evaporator coil looked like it had been wearing a fur coat. The pan was overflowing every cycle.

What we did: Cleared the drain line with a proper line cleaner, not just a shop vac, and installed a cleanout tee so the homeowner can maintain it going forward. Pulled the coil, cleaned it with a no-rinse evaporator cleaner, and treated the pan with a biocide strip to slow future growth.

The result: No more water where it shouldn’t be, and the system cools noticeably faster with a clean coil. The ceiling stain dried out. This one is a good reminder that a $119 maintenance visit beats a $3,000 ceiling repair, and the price for all of it was on paper before we started.

AC Installation: Attic Ductwork Replacement in Wilton Manors

The problem: A 1960s house in Wilton Manors had the original ductwork, and the rooms farthest from the air handler were getting maybe half the airflow of the rooms next to it. The flex ducts were torn in the attic, compressed in places, and insulated with whatever was cheap in 1972. The AC worked hard and the back bedroom still sat at 80 degrees.

What we did: Replaced the full duct run with R-8 insulated flex duct, properly hung and sealed at every joint with mastic, not tape. Redesigned the plenum to balance supply air across the house. Tested airflow at every register before and after.

The result: Even temperatures across the whole house for the first time in years, and the unit cycles less because it’s not fighting a duct system leaking half its air into the attic. We don’t do quick duct patches that fall apart in two years. The work is guaranteed in writing.
